Espar Hydronic S3 Heater

Eberspaecher, the leading system developer and supplier of vehicle Airtronic and Hydronic heaters, has expanded its product portfolio with the new Hydronic S3 Economy (5kW) pre-heater. The Hydronic S3 water heater impresses, thanks to its compact dimensions and flexible installation options for simple retrofitting in a large number of vehicle models. As a ground-breaking all-in-one solution with comprehensive peripheral devices, it offers installation partners many practical advantages.

Never scrape ice again. Get in your vehicle and feel comfortable. Enjoy perfect all-around visibility. Arrive safely. And along the way, protect the environment and your car with a pre-heated engine. An Eberspäecher pre-heater means the ideal combination of luxury, comfort and safety. Eberspäecher water heaters run independently from the engine and make for twice the benefit: pre-heating the car cabin and the engine. The Hydronic S3 Economy is integrated into the cooling water circuit of the engine. The generated heat is picked up by the vehicle’s heat exchanger and is dispensed accurately through present air ducts into the car cabin as warm air. Using the residual heat in the cooling water circuit, the engine is heated. During summers, an Eberspäecher pre-heater can be used to ventilate the car interior.

With the third generation of its Hydronic series, Eberspaecher is offering an easy-to-operate preheater with step-less heating power control. The compact and robust coolant heater works efficiently with all popular types of fuel. Due to its robust construction – with an encapsulated fan motor and the separation of cold and hot components – it is designed to simplify installation and for longevity. A high IP protection class also secures the unit from the ingress of water during high-pressure or steam jet cleaning. The new water spigots are fully rotatable by 360 degrees and are fully replaceable, they ensure convenient and rapid fitting in a range of installation positions. Optimized brackets enable the pre-heater to be mounted anywhere in the smallest possible space and to be attached rapidly and permanently.

Hyrdronic D5 Series offers affordable preheating of engine, fuel, and hydraulic systems as well as supplemental cab heating without idling the vehicle. Units function like hot water furnaces, utilizing the vehicle’s own fuel and power supply to produce heat. The heater’s coolant pump then circulates the engine’s coolant to transfer the heat to the engine block. Applications include: trucks, off-highway equipment, boats, and buses. Units are easy to install and do not require electrical plug-ins.

Espar Airtronic and Hydronic Heaters

AIRTRONIC Air Heaters
Eberspaecher’s air heaters are independent of both the engine and of the vehicle’s own heat balance. They draw in cool room or outside air, heat this up and then deliver it to the interior of the vehicle. Air heaters are an excellent solution for commercial vehicles of every type.

HYDRONIC Coolant Heaters
Eberspaecher’s coolant heaters work independently of the engine and thus offer a double plus: pre-heating the vehicle’s passenger compartment and the engine. The heaters are integrated into the cooling system of the engine. The thermal energy gained is then distributed through the vehicle’s own heat exchanger as forced hot air and this heats the interior of the vehicle via existing air vents. The engine is warmed up with the residual heat in the cooling water.

Heavy Duty A/C Best Practices: Preventative Maintenance, Diagnostics & How To Procedures
Driven by competition, computer aided design, a focus on quality and several other factors, mechanical reliability is at all time high. As a result heavy-duty A/C components rarely fail ! In fact, components mainly fail because of contaminated refrigerant oil and general lack of preventive maintenance.

As the A/C season kicks into high gear we continue sharing our series on A/C Best practices. Lets begin with a quick recap of what we’ve covered, before introducing this months features in ATCNEWS and ATCTV.
In March we offered a A/C Preventative Maintenance Schedule along with a video on Basic Troubleshooting. In April we shared The Importance of a System Inspection and a supporting video on How To and Which Components to Inspect.

This month in ATCNEWS we feature How To Troubleshoot the A/C Electrical System and How to Inspect an A/C Compressor  while on ATCTV we provide a supporting video Examining Compressor Failures. We  hope you find this series informative and the overall content via these channels helpful.

Did You Know!
Thermistors are a very accurate and cost effective sensor for measuring temperature. Need an OE replacement? Read more on ATCNEWS and watch the ATCTV installation video here.

ATC CONNECT – Parts cross references and look-up made easy
We continue to field and are happy to answer questions about this great new tool. Information on the top 2 questions can be found right here..How to Get Access and How To Use. The other most frequently asked question is about on-hand inventory. This update is completed overnight and ATC CONNECT displays the current inventory levels at the start of the day. As orders are placed and stock is depleted, if you need it, call or email us to order it. Remember the primary function of ATC CONNECT is parts cross reference and look up of specs.

Cabin Air Filters – A/C not blowing cold? A relatively new feature in the heavy duty industry, the cabin air filter is often overlooked in regular vehicle maintenance.Read more here
