Eberspaecher’s AIRTRONIC Air Heaters

Eberspaecher’s air heaters are independent of both the engine and the vehicle’s own HVAC system. They draw in either cool room air or outside air, heat this up and then deliver it to the interior of the vehicle. Air heaters are an excellent option for commercial vehicles of every type.

Eberspaecher’s HYDRONIC Coolant Heaters

Eberspaecher’s coolant heaters work independently of the engine and thus offer a double plus: preheating the vehicle’s passenger compartment as well as the engine. The heaters are integrated into the cooling system of the engine. The thermal energy gained is then distributed through the vehicle’s own heat exchanger as forced hot air and this heats the interior of the vehicle via existing air vents. The engine is warmed up with the residual heat in the coolant.

AIRTRONIC D2, B4, D4, D6, D8 and Echo Cargo Heaters

AIRTRONIC units range from 2 kW / 7,500 BTUs to 5 kW / 18,800 BTUs and are available with our Digi-controller, which has an internal ambient air temperature sensor for precise compartment heating. This makes it compact for a variety of location mounts.

HYDRONIC B, D, M & L Series Coolant Heaters

The Hydronics range from 12 kW/42,000 BTUs up to 35 kW/120,000 BTUs in a boxed configuration. These units have an automatic altitude compensation, are available in 12 or 24-volt models and come with accessories such as a spark arrestor. They are compact for a variety of location mounts. The M Series has multiple speeds that reduce amp draw in lower ranges.

Easy to Operate

Eberspaecher heaters operate as miniature furnaces that are independent of the engine, utilizing the unit’s own small engines to produce heat.

Efficient

Hydronic units heat the coolant, then circulate it to warm the engine and heat exchangers to near operating temp and can be sized to provide auxiliary heat for other critical fluids. 

AIRTRONIC heaters can provide ample heat to the cab, mobile work stations, crew shelters, etc., circulate air to applicable compartments, all without idling the engine.

Productive

Using timer controls, heaters can be switched on to begin engine preheating at preset intervals, allowing operators to go directly to work upon arrival.

ESPAR Heater Tip – Regardless of the season, run the heater every month for a minimum period of 15 minutes. This will help the heater burn away any combustion residue in the burner chamber, prevents corrosion in the waterjacket and decay of “O” rings. It also ensures that fuel in the lines to the heater does not gel and solidify and that the heater will start reliably when the heating season arrives.

Cabin Pressurization and Air Filtration

The indoor air quality is critical to providing a healthy and productive work environment as operators spend a great deal of time in the cab of their equipment. Cab pressurizers are highly effective at removing particulate as well as vapors and fumes and are manufactured to withstand the rigors of the harshest off-road and mining environments.  
For this application, we added a solution consisting of a pressurizer housing, pre-cleaner and three stage filter element, which has been tested by independent third party labs, certifying the systems provide HEPA (99.97% efficiency @ 0.3 Microns) read more here. The combination delivers clean, filtered air to the #890131 A/C & Heater via the fresh air intake.

MTO rebates on Espar Airtronic heaters

The Ontario government has resurrected the Green Commercial Vehicle Program (GCVP) providing rebates to qualifying businesses on Espar Airtronic heaters purchases. 
The MTO has announced that the application form for the GCVP is now online through Grants Ontario. Applicants can apply for the program by logging in and submitting an application using the Grants Ontario Portal.

The GCVP was championed by OTA as a way for the industry to receive the benefit of funds carriers pay through carbon pricing. The program provides rebates towards the purchase of alternative-fuel vehicles and fuel-saving devices, including natural gas and electric technologies, hence the rebate on Espar Airtronic heaters.

Members are encouraged to take part in the webinar by sending an RSVP to GCVP@ontario.ca, MTO will share the webinar details directly with participants.

The Green Commercial Vehicle Program (GCVP) is an incentive-based program for the commercial transportation sector, where incentives are provided upon proof of purchase as outlined below:

• For the purchase of alternative fuel vehicles such as electric, natural gas or diesel-natural gas dual fuel vehicles, incentive amounts range from 15-50% of the incremental purchase cost of an eligible vehicle as compared to an equivalent conventional fuel vehicle.

• For fuel saving devices, the incentive amount is 30-50% of the purchase and installation cost, of the aerodynamic device, anti-idling device or electric refrigeration unit. See the list of approved devices.

The GCVP will also include a stream of funding for Commercial Transportation Innovation Pilots. Further details on this portion of the program will be available in 2018.

All eligible purchases made on or after September 1, 2017, will be eligible to apply for incentives. Purchases made on or before March 31, 2018, will be eligible for an early adopter incentive worth an additional 10% for up to 10 vehicles or devices.

Please complete the Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) form and submit the completed form directly to Ontario Shared Services at the address noted in the EFT guide. (link available in Program Guidelines section below)

Applicants must also enroll in the One-Key (Transfer Payment Common Registry) to establish a Transfer Payment Account. Once notified, the applicant must then access Grants Ontario to enter the GCVP application system.

Applications to the Green Commercial Vehicles Program must be submitted electronically through the Grants Ontario System (GOS).
